Edmund McKoy migrated from Jamaica to USA in August 1977. He served on active duty in the United States Army from January 1978 to January 1981 while stationed in Germany for 18 months. After returning from Germany, Edmund maintained a civilian job while serving as Army Reserve and transferred to Delaware Army National Guard in May 2003. Between May 2003 and May 2018, Edmund served in three deployments in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait. He assisted in joint military operations in Jordan. As the Section Sergeant, Edmund was responsible for the maintenance of the UH-60 Black Hawk Helicopter Program. His missions achieved 100% success rates while overseas. Post-deployment, Edmund maintained his passion for aviation safety success by spearheading instructional programs at the Delaware National Guard Army Aviation Support Facility in New Castle, Delaware. In March 2018, Edmund retired from service with The Meritorious Service Medal and several other associated accolades. He currently dedicates his service to promoting aviation development through IADA and hopes to promote an international standard of safety protocol and advancement in aviation leadership in the Caribbean islands.
